A list of the best home decor projects and ideas from Printable Crush! You’ll see my office renovations, kid room ideas, DIY projects, and more!
My husband and I moved around a lot at the beginning of our marriage. We’ve lived in 2 different apartments and 3 rental homes in 7 years, so when we were finally moved to a location where we could settle, I jumped at the chance to purchase a home. My husband works in construction and owned his own renovation company for a few years before we met…so while our house wasn’t exactly what we wanted, I knew we could DIY our way to a dream home!
In the past five years, our home has gone through numerous changes (we have repainted rooms SO many times!!) and I’ve documented some of the renovations here for you to see. Some things are still in the works, but these are some of my favorite home decor projects and ideas that I’ve posted on the blog so far. Home Office Decor Ideas and Projects
My home office and craft room doesn’t look quite this tidy on most days, but it’s the most complete room in the house and I still love working in this space! You can see how we made our DIY Laminate Countertops, learn an easy way to ribbon, and create an easy faux concrete planter or gold foil teepee to give your space a personal touch.

Kid Bedroom Decor Ideas
I think my daughter has the cutest room in the house. It’s a Woodland Princess theme full of whimsy and coral pink, with blue and yellow accents. She’s 8 now, so in the next couple of years, we’ll probably be updating to something that will have a more timeless/grown-up look (insert ugly tears here). This room will always be special to me and I’m really glad I took pictures.
I painted the mountains and castle on her walls 2 days before I had my youngest, so that gives you an idea of how crazy I am. But I love the little details, like the crown pillow and matching wall art, the gold vinyl curtains (I also loved that they were non-committal because of the vinyl), and the custom desk my husband made. I also have my hand-lettered fabric artwork hanging in that room, which she loves.
Now, this room has a new daybed and a new dresser, but I’m waiting to update you on pictures until we’re finished with the next design is finished. We have big plans for this room, though, so stay tuned!
My son’s Monster baby room is another room that we have recently redone, but it’s still a cute room. My photography skills at the time were super limited, so I don’t feel like they grasp how cute this room really was. It was perfect for my little monster (who is no longer a baby…why is this post making me so sad???)
Now, my two boys share a room and we’re doing the finishing touches on a superhero room inspired by my superhero fabric.

I wanted to show you all the process and give you a timeline because I think people don’t realize how long it takes to get decor projects done, but it seems like bloggers have these beautiful homes and they get them finished instantly. SO not the case. It takes years to save money for your furniture and home decor, and even more time to complete the projects. We’ve been in our house for five years, and while I feel blessed to have my home, the idea that it will be an ongoing process to complete it seems daunting!
But now I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Since my house is getting closer to completion, you’ll be seeing more DIY projects and decor ideas in the coming months. Can’t wait to share it all with you!
