Are you a ribbon hoarder like me? You need this EASY DIY Ribbon Holder idea. It’s so pretty I display it on my shelf in my home office!
I made this DIY Ribbon Holder sort of by accident. I bought the wire mesh baskets from Walmart because they’re cute and for only $10 you get six! SUCH a great deal. I also happened to have wooden dowels at home because I’m a hoarder, and the idea popped in my head. I didn’t want a huge wall display of ribbons because I had other plans with my Floral Vinyl Walls and this was the PERFECT solution! No more digging through boxes of tangled ribbon and I also have a pretty display, to boot!
To Make this Easy DIY Ribbon Holder, you’ll need:
- Wire Baskets (mine are Mainstay brand from Walmart
)
- 1/4″ X 12″ Dowel Rods
- Saw or other cutting tool
- Sanding Paper
- Paint (I used THIS COLOR)

This where I always feel silly writing directions. It’s SO easy! Simply cut the dowel so it’s about 3/4″ longer than the width of your basket. Sand the edges a little, then paint it.
After that, you’ll place the ribbon on the dowel and place it in the basket so the dowel is resting on one of the wires.
I like to keep my ribbon secured with tape while I’m not using it so it stays tidy. I am usually not organized with most things, but unruly ribbon drives me absolutely CRAZY!
So there you have it! I think this is the easiest DIY Ribbon Holder ever…maybe the easiest DIY ever and I have some pretty simple ones on my blog! Getting an office together takes SO much work, so I like to simplify whatever I can.
Stay tuned Monday for the BIG Office Reveal!!!
