This probably won’t be a shock to anyone, but I’m going to reveal it anyway. I hoard craft supplies. I have a whole closet full of things I haven’t used in about a year and every day I say I’ll clean it out tomorrow and it never gets done. So now, when I head to the craft store I only buy the essentials. My office makeover is close to being done, so I want to keep it tidy for forever. So when I say these are the most useful Cricut accessories and supplies, I mean that I keep these items handy at all times.
I use most of these Cricut supplies on a weekly, if not daily basis. Besides my art supplies, my Cricut Explore Air gets the most use in my office. I’m going to break this down into two parts for you to make it easier to navigate. One section is my favorite supplies and materials and the other is the Cricut accessories and tools that I can’t live without!
Just so you know…A LOT of the products I’m mentioning are in the
Here is a convenient list of Cricut accessories and supplies, and below I’ll break them down for you.
The Most Useful Cricut Accessories and Materials to Get Started:
- Cricut Pens
- Indoor Removeable Vinyl
- Adhesive Foil
- Iron-On Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Printable Materials
- Cardstock
Cricut Pens are really fun and easy to use. I use them to create Hand Lettering Projects.
Indoor Removeable Vinyl is great for any home decor DIY project. I created this Gold Foil Teepee with the Adhesive Foil (which is pretty much vinyl) and I’ll be posting about my vinyl wall tutorial soon! You can also use vinyl as a stencil to create PERFECT hand-lettered art. For these projects, make sure you get some Transfer Tape.
Of course, I can’t make this list without mentioning some Printable Materials and Cardstock! You’ll find everything from Printable fabric to Printable Iron On. Use the cardstock to print out your own designs like this cute Unicorn Printable, or create Paper Flowers with the patterned cardstock.
Speaking of Iron-On Vinyl, I’m in love with the Glitter Iron-On (see the tutorial for using it HERE). Of course, there are many materials to choose from, like foil and neon!
Must-Have Cricut Accessories And Tools:
- Weeder
- Small Scraper and Spatula
- X-Large Scraper
- Cutting Mat Set
- 12X24″ Mat Set
- Extra Blades
- Deep Cut Blade
If you’re going to work with vinyl, you NEED this Weeder tool. You use it to pick the excess vinyl away. See it in use HERE.
The X-Large Scraper is my favorite tool to use. I use it to smooth down paper or vinyl to the mat or to scrape off material that sticks to the mat. The Small Scraper and Spatula set is also very handy.
I use different mats for certain materials. Since I don’t want the cardstock to stick too much, I use the Light Grip Mat for printables. The Strong Grip Mat is perfect for thicker items like Glitter Iron-On and I use the Standard mat for most other items. Purchase the Cutting Mat Set initially, then purchase the individual mats when you need to replace them. I also like to use the 12X24″ Mat Set for large vinyl projects.
Make sure you also buy some Extra Blades and the Deep Cut Blade is handy for thicker items like chipboard.
There are definitely more materials to try, but these are my essentials and it’s a good place to start! You can see all my Cricut tutorials HERE.
