Learn how to Make Hand Lettered and Watercolor Easter Eggs for a unique take on this fun craft. It’s so easy, you can create these with the kids, too!
Not even joking…I can’t believe I have been coloring Easter Eggs wrong all these years. When we dip them, it’s SO messy, we use a ton of dye, the colors aren’t bright enough…and did I mention the mess? This is the solution, guys. Not only were these SUPER easy, but these Hand Lettered and Watercolor Easter Eggs turned out stunning!

By the way, I did like 3 painting projects before I created this video, and got food coloring on my hands, so that’s why I have multiple paint stains on my hands and fingernails. It’s not pretty, but these are workin’ hands, people 😉
What you’ll need to make these Hand Lettered and Watercolor Easter Eggs:
- Hard Boiled eggs, duh!
- Neon Food Dye (3 drops per color)
- 2-3 Tbs Water per color
- Small round paint brush
- Black Marker (preferably food safe)

- After boiling the eggs, let them completely cool.
- Mix the dye with water until you get the color you desire.
- Turn the egg over and paint in downward strokes about 1/3 of the way up the egg.
- Pat any excess water to keep from dripping, then let dry.
- Write any saying you would like on the egg with a marker, then let dry again.
- Stick back in the refrigerator until you’re ready to hide them!
Didn’t I tell you these were easy? I will be letting my kids take over when it comes closer to Easter and I seriously can’t wait to see what they create. They can’t wait either…they were pretty bummed that I painted all the eggs…but I just bought them from Amazon Prime Now and I didn’t want to go back to the store for more! HA! They will get their chance 😉
PS…I actually used my Tombow Fudenosuke Pen to letter these eggs…but I still recommend a food safe option.
