I did things a little differently with my luau party than I do my other parties. I usually create printables for decoration, but thanks to Oriental Trading, I didn’t think that was necessary.
But, you know me…I can’t NOT have printables. So instead, I created some Luau themed party games! Between these and the Luau Cookie Decorating Station, you’ll have all your luau activities planned for the kids!
Learn About Hawaiian Culture
Something I think is SO important is to teach kids about other cultures. My family traveled a lot and I’m from the very diverse state of New Mexico, so other cultures have always fascinated me.
Sure, it’s fun to drink mocktails, eat ocean themed cookies, and wear hula skirts….
After visiting Hawaii and learning about the Hawaiian history, going to a real luau, and visiting with the super friendly people…
I wanted to express my appreciation for the Hawaiian culture in these luau party games.
What’s included in these freebies?

- Luau Word Match Game – I searched the internet for common Hawaiian words so kids can practice them during the party. It works like other matching games – they’ll simply match the Hawaiian word with the corresponding English word.
- Hawaii Trivia Game – Hawaii is unlike any other US State…and I think your kids will be fascinated to learn some facts about Hawaii (that I didn’t even know until I did this printable –see? we’re all learning here).
- Hawaii Map Activity – Hawaii has over 132 islands…but I figured you wouldn’t want to cut all those out, so I’ve included a Hawaiian map of the inhabited islands that you can cut out and piece together using the key. It includes labels for cities, volcanoes, islands, and fun printable designs to decorate your island with.

Below are the suggested materials and supplies you’ll need to create these luau party printables, but you can get by with paper, a printer and some scissors. The other supplies simple make things easier 😉

Each printable has instructions on them, but they’re pretty straight forward either way. Just print and cut. Well, there is some folding
