This tropical Cricut party decor is so simple to create with the new graphics included with the Martha Stewart Cricut® Explore Air™ 2 Special Edition found at Michaels stores!
When Cricut asked me to create a party using the Martha Machine, to say I was excited would be an understatement. Like many of you, I grew up reading her magazine, watching her craft shows, and buying her home decor line. I knew that this machine would be gorgeous, and yeah…I was right. I was instantly drawn to the pineapple designs and created this easy and inexpensive Tropical Cricut Party!
It comes with a pearl and brushed gold Cricut Explore Air 2™ and matching toolset with everything you see below (a weeder, scraper, spatula, tweezers, and scissors). Of course, you get all the capabilities of the Air 2, like Bluetooth connection, smart dial, and it’s compatible with Cricut cartridges.
This machine is exclusively sold at Michaels…and while you’re there pick up some of Martha Stewart’s new party line products! These are absolutely gorgeous…the mint and blush or gold items would match perfectly with this tropical Cricut party I created.
My favorite part, though? You get 25 exclusive Martha Stewart images (and 50 ready-to-make projects). I was immediately drawn to the party decor, but there are also projects for home decor and crafts, and you can always create your own project using the designs by utilizing the slice tool, weld tool, or contour tool. If you already have a Cricut, you can also purchase these designs in Design Space.
I’ve included the projects I used for this party below. One link is the original project as it appears in design space, and the other is the project with my modifications. Make sure you click on the original link for instructions.
To recreate this tropical Cricut party, you will need the following projects:
- Wall Rosettes (view the original here)
- Scalloped Tray (view the original here)
- Pineapple Party Favor Bags (view the original here)
- Pineapple Topper (modified from the Pineapple Party Garland)
- Tropical Leaves (from the Butterfly Boquet Project)
Supplies Needed:
- Martha Machine
- Scrapbook Paper
- Cricut Cardstock (I used white and teal green)
- Pearl Paper for the rosettes (I found this incredibly easy to use for the rosettes since it’s so flexible).
- Sparkle Paper for the cake topper
- Adhesive Foil for the tags on the gift bags
- Scoring Stylus
- Light Grip Mat
- Hot glue gun
- Tissue paper
- Baker’s Twine
The great thing about using projects in Cricut Design Space is that they have instructions for each project. I have listed all the graphics that I modified for this particular party, but the instructions remain the same except for the cake topper. For that, you’ll just glue the pineapple cut out onto the scalloped cutout. Make sure you click on the ORIGINAL for the rest of the instructions.
Just in case the scalloped box was a little confusing, I’ve posted pictures below on how you fold along the score lines. Make sure you also glue them in place before tying the sides with baker’s twine.
For the rosette wall, there are a couple ways you could place them. I used a foam board, then foam adhesive stickers to place them on the foam board. It’s permanent, so I didn’t have to worry about removing them from the inexpensive foam board. If you’re placing them on your wall, I would recommend removable wall adhesives, but make sure you get some sturdy ones because these fans are deceptively heavy!
I am a sucker for stress-free, budget-friendly parties and the Cricut always helps things run smoothly. I used to cut everything out BY HAND, and it would take days (mostly because I had to give my poor hands a beak). This simple tropical party only took one afternoon to put together. AMAZING!
