Summer Harvest Brunch with Salt & Pepper Moms

I can not tell you how excited I am to share this party with you today! Not only was this Summer Harvest Brunch gorgeous, but the waffle bar was SOOOO yummy! I worked with Tara and Devin from Salt & Pepper Moms on this project. It was my first collaboration and it was a huge hit and it was so fun! I supplied the printables, Tara and Devin made the food and we both contributed to the decor.

Decor

The great thing about this party is that we were able to incorporate a lot of decor that we already had, thus making it budget friendly. Devin and Tara already had some DIY decor that was perfect for this party. My favorite was the pallet box centerpiece and stenciled pallet sign. I used dishes that I got from Joss & Main (they were so pretty!), my grandmother’s silver for the place settings, and gorgeous glasses from The World Market. I wrapped the glasses in burlap, ribbon and placed a round tag in the center.

I wanted to create printables that felt like a Farmer’s Market…something vintage and pretty. I used strawberries, raspberries and blackberries for inspiration for my color palette and I used green from the leaves to make everything pop. I also created a distressed look for all the printables to keep the vintage feel.

I wanted to use the printables in a unique way. Since we weren’t having cupcakes, I used the “cupcake toppers” for pretty much everything else…drinks, batter cups (which helped keep our waffles fresh) and food labels. I also used the tags to label all the syrups. It’s a unique and fresh way to use printables! Tara and Devin created the menu for the party and I’m drooling thinking about it. The waffles were made using Bisquick for the batter. You can’t go wrong with Bisquick, delicious every time. We poured the batter into individual cups so guests could make their own warm and fresh waffles to load with some delicious toppings:

Buttermilk Syrup – Recipe courtesy of Tara’s sister-in-law Breezy. Every time she visits, she makes this to go with Tara’s pancakes and Tara was always afraid to try it due to her aversion to buttermilk. Apple Cider Syrup – Found in Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen. Tara loves this recipe, but when she makes it she uses less cloves than the recipe calls for.

Homemade Whipped Cream – So delicious and so easy. 1 c. heavy whipping cream, 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla (we always let a little extra dribble in), whipped with a hand mixer to perfection!

Fresh Fruit – Sliced strawberries, sliced bananas, blueberries, and raspberries. We love fresh fruit on our waffles! Especially when you pair it with…
