If you’re like me and still like to read actual books, you’ll love these pretty Spring Bookmark Printables!
I love reading books on my iPad, especially when I’m vacationing, but there’s something special about reading an old book. My grandfather has a building where he collects a lot of antiques. This building is bigger than his house and I’m not even kidding. He had a lot of books there and I took almost all of them. I’m the only granddaughter, so of course he let me.
One of those books is my favorite book EVER! If you’re into gothic era romance, you have to read Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier, then watch the movie by Alfred Hitchcock
(the only movie he ever won an Academy Award for!) It was a very old book, published in 1938 and in good condition. It also had a note to Mrs. RF Stovall from Daisy on November 23, 1938. I think that just adds to the character of the book!
I decided to do a little research on the book and found out it was a FIRST EDITION in the US (she’s from England so it was published there first)! What are the chances that my grandpa was given these books and one is my favorite book that happens to be a first edition? It was meant to be. I also discovered that I took home a first edition Gone with the Wind. I have yet to read it because I watched the movie when I was in high school and I hated it. My tastes are a little more refined now, so I’m thinking I’ll read it when I have the time (when my kids don’t live with me anymore…in 18 years).
Just so you know, this is not a happy fairytale love story. Like I said, it’s GOTHIC, dark and a little twisted…which is probably why I love it 🙂 It has an amazing story with a great twist at the end! The Spring Bookmark Printables will offset all the twisted stuff 🙂
Download and print out these Spring Bookmark Printables, then get your hands on an old and beautiful book!
