Guest Post: Geometric Advent Calendar

Can you believe it’s Christmas time already? I am Brenda from From Me, With Love. I am so excited to share this fun and modern advent calendar that the whole family can help make. I remember way back in 3rd grade learning about origami when we learned about Japan. I fell in love with the art of paper folding. I thought it might be fun to mix a modern geometric shape with traditional art.

How many of you do an advent calendar with your families? I love doing one- it feels like a bunch of tiny Christmases leading up to the big day. I cannot wait to start opening these and enjoy spending quality time with my family. One of my favorite activities is Breakfast with Santa. The sparkle of belief (or a tear) when my kids see Santa is priceless.

Making this calendar will be so fun but doing the activities will be even more so! You can also put some treats inside as it serves as a favor box, too. Now, don’t let the word origami scare you! It is so simple to fold. I just followed this tutorial and used American Crafts Thickers. Can’t go wrong with gold and glitter. I also made them 2 different sizes because I like to spice it up now and again. You can take your pic of small or large or both!
