If getting organized overwhelms you, download this printable weekly calendar and tackle it two weeks at a time! If you aren’t an organized person, this is for you!
I never make New Year’s resolutions. I don’t set 5-year goals, and I don’t have a year of posts planned out, but I still GET THINGS DONE. Some people thrive on planning and living by a schedule, and I am not one of those people. Yearly and even monthly calendars are overwhelming to me. I listened to successful people when they told me I needed to plan things out, and it never worked for me. This year, I decided to fix it. I ended up with my printable weekly calendar, two weeks at a time.
I think the reason this works for me is that I can see what needs to get done for the next two weeks, but I’m not overwhelmed with planning out for the month. This will sound weird to some people. I am a creative person, through and through. I have a new “GREAT IDEA” every day, so having a schedule is imperative. However, I can’t have a strict schedule because it is restricting. I have to have room to breathe, and this two-week schedule does that for me.
What is the best way to use a weekly printable calendar?
I sit down one day before my two weeks is up. It doesn’t matter which day (remember I can’t be tied down). I do have a monthly calendar that I write down all my sponsored posts for the month. I work around those for the two weeks and write down my tasks for each day. I do not keep to a schedule (notice there are no times on this calendar). For example, my day usually consists of either creating printables, taking pictures, editing pictures and writing posts. Anything that I have for kids goes in my phone and sends me notifications, so this calendar is strictly for business purposes. I also write down each bill that’s due at the bottom of the list.
I usually keep the same type of tasks in one day. For example, one day I design 2-4 printables, the next day I take pictures of those printables and the third day I edit pictures and write the posts. Since I have kids, I have to work around their schedules, nap times change, sometimes kids get sick, and sometimes I get sick, so I make sure I write things down in erasable ink, and I can always switch things around if I have to.
So that’s how an incredibly unorganized person stays organized. I would not have made it the last two months if I didn’t have this method. I had posts almost every day, school activities, family visiting and traveling for holidays. If you have a hard time staying organized, download this free printable and give it a shot!
