Last Thursday, we put on a Hand Lettering Workshop, and I have to say…it was a HUGE hit!
Beautiful photography for this even was by Songs Kate Sang
We (as in Laura and Liz and I) were at a meetup here in Arizona and we were thinking that we haven’t heard of many “craft” or “hobby” nights going on lately. We decided to change that and got planning, and I think everything for our Hand turned out just great.
I think the most surprising part of this workshop is that we had it in Liz’s garage. It sounds weird, but it turned out AWESOME! You could pretty much only tell it was a garage because of the garage doors…which I liked because it gave it an industrial look. Liz and her husband did a fantastic job getting it workshop-ready!
We had a popcorn bar, drink bar and some cupcakes for treats. We wanted to have a couple of mini-demos before the hand lettering class, so Liz taught everyone how to make delicious non-alcoholic drinks for parties and Laura showed us how to make chocolate hearts. Everyone went home with some chocolate and templates to make their own (which you can get HERE).
For the hand lettering class, everyone was provided with a sharpie, some practice sheets, a practice book and some notecards to write hand-lettered notes. I taught the class on an old school projector that Liz found at a garage sale the week before (and it worked well!)
I can’t mention this workshop without talking about our AMAZING sponsor, Fry’s Food Stores. They provided all the food, drinks and flowers. It was a dream working with them! We have some exciting things in the works with them, and I can’t wait to continue this partnership!
We had such a great time! It was A LOT of work, but it totally paid off. I can’t wait to tell you details of our next workshop! Until then, follow along on Instagram with the hashtags #crushingonfrys and #crushworkshop and sign up for the Printable Crush Newsletter to get the latest updates!
