Download this FREE Printable Wall Art to remind yourself that Kindness is ALWAYS Beautiful!
This post was sponsored by Walmart and The Motherhood. All opinions are 100% mine.
The other day, I was walking out of a gas station, my usual Pepsi in my hand, holding a baby and wrangling a five-year-old and a man was coming behind me, so I kept the door open for him. He just walked right through without a “Thank You” and I was SO annoyed! Couldn’t he see that I literally had my hands full, and I went out of my way? Apparently not…but I thought about it later, and you know what? Seeking a thank you for kindness defeats the purpose of being kind.
Maybe he was having a bad day, or lost in thought. It doesn’t matter either way because even though it was a tiny act on my part, it’s going to be the little things that make the difference in the world. I don’t NEED a thank you. So I found this quote and decided to make a lovely FREE Printable Wall Art to remind myself of that fact.
Acts of kindness don’t have to take a lot of time or even that much effort, but I think we all sometimes forget to do these little things. Some ideas of small acts of kindness could be:
- Attaching money to formula or other necessary items
- Sending a note or even calling a friend
- Pay someone a compliment
- Smile and say hello to everyone
- Give neighbors a small gift (like this FREE Printable Wall Art)
- Donate to food banks
An easy way to give to food banks is to head to Walmart from March 28th to April 25th, 2016. Walmart is hosting the “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign. For every participating product purchased, the manufacturer will donate $0.09 to Feeding America. Look for the label above. These signs were EVERYWHERE! My store had a whole aisle, and I picked items that I already needed, like cereal and snacks for the kids. Look for items from Campbell Soup Company, General Mills, Kellogg Company, the Kraft Heinz Company, and PepsiCo. You can also donate to Feeding America at the register.
I’ve am incredibly blessed. I’ve NEVER gone hungry and never had to worry about feeding my children. Did you know USDA reports 48 million people in America, including more than 15 million children, struggle with hunger? That statistic is staggering, and Walmart is making it SO easy to donate. I didn’t even have to break my routine…I was already headed there; I already needed those items, and they were still offered at a low price. Walmart has over 140 million customers, that that $0.09 seems small, but it will make a HUGE impact on Feeding America!
Feeding America is the leading hunger-relief organization and with this campaign, they plan to secure over 75 MILLION meals for those in need. I think that’s awesome!
