Disclaimer: I received a gift card to Expressions Vinyl to create these Easy DIY Gold Polka Dot Curtains curtains. All opinions are completely my own.
I actually made these curtains a while ago, but with regular vinyl. It was for my daughter’s Sleeping Beauty Party and they looked REALLY cute. While I loved the way it looked in my daughter’s room, I was worried about how long it would last. The vinyl started getting wrinkled, so I wanted a better solution. Expressions Vinyl HTV Material is incredibly durable…which I discovered when I made her cute Princess Pillow. Believe me when I say this is the EASIEST way to spruce up some cheap white curtains. Keep reading to see how you can make these Easy DIY Gold Polka Dot Curtains!
I bought these curtains for our master bedroom, but they just weren’t cutting it. So, I used them in Riley’s room. They’re perfect in there! I love how the glitter sparkles against the wall when the sun hits it just right. I love everything about this room, but these curtains make such a statement!
To make these, you’ll need:
- 5 sheets 12X20″ Gold Glitter HTV Material
- Silhouette Cameo or Scissors
I was going to make a video tutorial of these, but then I realized the video would be like 10 seconds long. Cut out circles, iron onto fabric. Seriously, THAT’S IT! In case you didn’t get that…
Cut out circles (I used my Silhouette Cameo):
Peel off sticky part and iron onto fabric:
Hang Curtains:
Some tips before you start:
- The circles can be any size, but mine ranged from 2.5 inches wide to 7 inches wide.
- I liked to start from one side of the circle and smooth it out to the other side. That way I didn’t get any bumps.
- Hold the iron down with some force…the HTV will adhere better that way.
I want to HTV all the things in my house. I wish I could glitter up everything, but my husband might not be too happy about that. He draws the line at the princess room. I’m loving all the other Vinyl ideas in our Expressions Vinyl Blog Hop! Get more inspiration here:
