When I told my daughter that I was planning a Sleeping Beauty Slumber Party for her, she flipped! Like most 5 year olds, she LOVES Disney Princesses and Sleeping Beauty is one of her favorites.
When I plan a party, I use my handy Party Planner Printables. You can find the download HERE. I draw out my ideas, plan the food and printables and even write down my shopping lists on these. Planning your princess party doesn’t have to kill you (and trust me, I’ve planned some parties that I thought would kill me). The main thing is you need to be organized and these printables will help you out a lot!
Decor
The first thing I think about is the decor. I usually design my printables first. Since most people don’t design their own, you should find the best printables for your party (and these Sleeping Beauty Printables are free…so can’t get better than that!) Next, I think about the location and the layout. For this layout, I wanted the first part of the party to be outside, so I had my husband create this backdrop with PVC Pipes and I decorated my daughter’s curtains with gold vinyl polka dots.
I wanted the area to be a place where the girls could hang out, so I laid down some pillows and blankets. I had most of this stuff on hand already, so I didn’t spend a fortune creating the set up.

The rest of the details kind of fell into place after I planned the menu.
Menu
I didn’t want to have too many sweets at this party (because a bunch of 5 year olds hopped up on sugar for a sleepover is just not a good idea!) Instead, I served Pancakes lightly drizzled with icing and topped with decorative candies. I also gave them small servings of popcorn (perfect for watching the recently released Sleeping Beauty on Bluray) and fruit skewers. The food was so easy to put together since I didn’t have to cook anything! I bought the pancakes in the frozen section in Walmart.
Party Favors
The party favors were also super easy! I made the sleeping masks using felt fabric and gold scalloped ribbon. I made a stencil out of vinyl using my Silhouette and painted on the word “Princess.” I bought the Princess party favors at Walmart from American Greetings. The girls loved everything…they wore the necklaces around and couldn’t wait to write in their mini books. This set comes with enough for 8 girls and they’re really affordable.
Activities
We played outside, jumped on the trampoline and then we watched Sleeping Beauty! You can find the Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Gift set at Walmart…and once they’re sold out, you have to wait until Disney releases it from the vault again…so hurry and get your copy!!
All in all, this party was a HUGE success. The girls had so much fun and so did I!

You are SO organized! That’s always my problem with parties. I’m just not as organized as I should be and then I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. #client

I totally love the fruit skewers, and pancake idea…they also make that you can buy pancakes that come flavored w/blueberries or maple syrup in little bags at the freezer section for less than $1.00 a bag. I really enjoyed you printables and also your organizational sheets…maybe I should try that so I can stay on track for once!
