Guys, I can’t tell you how happy I am to write this post…because not only does it mean I get to snuggle this cute guy all day, it also means I’m not pregnant anymore. I truly hate being pregnant, and I truly love having this guy around, so it’s really Win/Win 🙂
My kids have been anxiously awaiting his arrival for 1/4 of their lives. That’s a long time to wait…to say they were excited would be an understatement. Riley could not wait to meet her baby brother and Max just thinks he’s the most hilarious thing ever. Every time he holds him he laughs hysterically.
My birth story is probably like a lot of other birth stories, so to summarize, I was dilated to 5 centimeters for a WEEK! I felt like he was going to fall out. I went in to be induced, got on pitocin, they checked me 5 hours later and I was STILL at a 5. It was crazy. They upped my pitocin and broke my water, then my epidural stopped working on the right side of my body. Holy crap, giving birth is really painful. I felt every pain on one side of my body for over an hour and I can honestly say how grateful I am for modern medicine. I Heart epidurals sooooo much!
Anywho, they “topped me off” and the rest of the birth was a breeze…besides not being able to move the lower half of my body and puking the whole time I was at a 10. Grand fun. I pushed for about an hour (with my son, I pushed for a total of 2 minutes…not even kidding)…kid did not want to come out. When he finally did, everyone in the room started laughing because he was SOOO chunky and had a ton of hair. The nurses could not get enough of him and they were shocked when they weighed him and he didn’t weigh over 9 lbs.
Beau was born at 2:27 am on New Year’s Eve. 8.7 lbs and 20 inches. He was also 2 weeks early, so I will be eternally grateful that he didn’t come any later A) because taxes, B) dang insurance deductible starting Jan 1 C) kid would have been a monster. He’s pretty considerate.
And I think it’s crazy that these two are brothers…they don’t look a like at all. Except they are wearing the same outfit. Beau actually looks like the boy version of my daughter…so looks like my husband will have one mini me (Max) and I’ll have two 🙂
So, if you don’t see me around for the next month, this is the reason…it’s a pretty good reason. He likes to stay up till midnight every night and then wake up every hour after that, so not much energy left for blogging. Luckily, I have some great blogging friends to keep you busy during January with guest posts, so stay tuned!!

Congrats, congrats, congrats! Love that full head of hair! My kids just went less hair with each, so little Tess is practically bald! But still a cutie.
