Don’t have the photography skills yet? Learn how to Use Mockup Photos to Promote Printables! Get tips for making mockups look natural and match them to your brand.
On Wednesday, I shared how to get Bright White Photos. Well, it takes time to perfect those skills and you may need to promote your Printables NOW…so I’m showing you How to Use Mockup Photos to Promote Printables. You can edit mockups in Photoshop or even Canva (if you have PNG files). I’m going to show you how to edit them in Photoshop because that’s what I use and if you’re going to be serious about selling your products, you should invest in software like Photoshop or Illustrator 🙂
The mockups I’m using for this tutorial can be found at DesignCuts. For a couple weeks, they’re doing a bundle deal that CAN NOT be missed! I can’t tell you how ecstatic I am about the Party scene planner…which is why I chose that one for this video tutorial. Editing some of these kits might be a little different, but luckily they have included PDF instructions for you!
I used printables I already had to create these mockups. The first photo includes my 2017 Monthly Calendar and Goal Tracker and below you’ll see the invites I created in Canva. The picture below is just something I had on my iPad pro, then the image below that is what a vinyl decal might look like with the Blessed image I used for my Hand Lettered Wood Sign tutorial.
The best part is that you don’t have to make a mess! I did a photoshoot yesterday and my office was a complete disaster. Does it look as natural as a photo? Not quite…but your readers or customers won’t care 🙂 I really do wish I had mockups when I was selling party printables…would have saved me HOURS and HOURS of work!
I especially love using these for wall art. These are no-fuss. Simply add the frame images from one bundle and insert your image. No matter what, I can’t get home decor images to look quite right, so I use mock images quite a bit.
