Teach Kids Hand Lettering with these FREE Hand lettering Worksheets for kids! This is great for teaching your kids how to write in cursive, too!
Apparently, children aren’t going to be taught how to write in cursive in school. My husband thinks it’s no big deal, but since I make a living in part by writing in cursive…I’m not going to let that stand. My daughter is only 7 and she’s already got it mastered, so I figured I should help other kids, too with these Hand Lettering Worksheets for Kids!
I picked three common words and show your child all the upstrokes and downstrokes with helpful lines. Since these are printables, you can print them over and over again so your child can keep practicing! And let’s be honest, you may want to practice, too! If you or your child likes these, you can purchase the Alphabet, Swashes and Phrases practice sheets or the VIDEO course (which also includes the worksheets)!
For these practice sheets, I use a Tombow Dual brush Pen, but sharpies work really well, too.
When teaching your child hand lettering:
- First, have them outline the words provided.
- Next, outline the thick pink part.
- Fill in the pink part and repeat for each letter.
You can also have them try out thickening the down strokes with the brush end of the Tombow Dual brush Pen. They take some getting used to, but they’ll provide a much more even coverage (and will be a precursor to learning how to brush letter!)
