When I was still living at my parent’s house, eating their food, spending their money and not cleaning my room…my favorite time of year was summer. My family made it so fun. Going back to school was rough…but my mom always made the transition easier by going back to school shopping. I still get the itch every year to go get a new wardrobe…but since I’m spending my own money, I just don’t (sorry, Mom!) My daughter is way too much like me (again, Mom, I’m really sorry!) and not only does she love back to school shopping, but she also likes to party (like a 6 year old). We threw this Back to School Pizza Party to celebrate the summer ending and of course, buying new school clothes and shoes!
Two of my 3 babies are going to school this year, which is just crazy to me! One will be in preschool and it’s only 2 days a week, but seriously…how are they so big already? They’re so big, in fact, that they helped me create this whole party! They painted the Pizza letters, the paper backdrop and the paper table cloth.
I gave them the paper and paint and told them to do whatever they wanted! Can I just say how proud I am that my daughter is paying attention to the trends and drawing triangles and arrows??? After the party was ready and the blazing Arizona sun set, they got dressed up in their school clothes and new shoes from Famous Footwear.
I’m in love with their new shoes…and I know they’ll last the whole school year! You can find Riley’s shoes HERE and Max’s shoes HERE. For more Back to School style inspiration, visit the #ohsofamous style gallery from Famous Footwear. Also, check out my Mother Daughter Brunch Date!
I wanted this party to be more than just some cupcakes and balloons. My daughter has been really getting into art, so I thought this was the perfect time to get her involved. They loved creating the decor and making their own pizzas was fun and delicious. It really was a simple party to put together…and I think it’s my favorite ever since my little munchkins contributed.
Are you guys excited for Back to School? I have mixed feelings!
